The Kennebec Valley Community Action Program is searching for an individual to be part of a progressive and innovative team in its Social Services Program. This position is for 24 hours per week.
The Community Resources Provider will deliver year-round evidenced-based parent education; plan, organize and facilitate workshops and presentations regarding child abuse prevention strategies; and connect families to needed resources and services in their communities. We are looking for someone with previous work experience with children and families, experience facilitating groups and willingness to work flexible working hours, such as occasional evenings and weekends as necessary. Working knowledge of local resources for families and effective written and strong verbal communication skills are a necessity.is responsible for implementing strategies to prevent, address and reduce child abuse and neglect within Somerset County.
Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services and/or experience in Social Services, family studies or other related field. Ability to work with a wide variety of people in different circumstances and culturally diverse populations as well as the ability to have a flexible schedule. Possess a valid driver’s license and have use of a vehicle insured to State of Maine requirements; ability to pass State Bureau of Investigation, Department of Health and Human Services, Department of Motor Vehicle, National Sex Offender Registry and Fraud background checks.
