Shear Machine Operator (1st Shift) - Wells, ME
purpose of this position is to work with brake press and shear in the custom
metal fabrication department.
press break machine.
• Run bend
and forming operations using standard and custom punches.
• Use a CNC
controller to input into machine.
• Adjust ram
and back gauge locations per process control instructions and blueprints.
height, depth and thickness using micrometers, dial indicators, calipers,
gauges and other precision-measuring instruments.
complex programing using all features of the press brake.
• Work with
parts for assembly operations.
customer specifications and delivery requirements.
spot inspections of parts.
safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
all required routine and minor maintenance activities according to procedures.
and maintain paperwork.
machine for defects and repair if necessary.
machine is calibrated and cleaned.
drawings and blueprints.
Responsible for cycle count program in assigned area.
production, quality and safety standards are met
cleaning and maintaining of 5’s practices
other assignments as directed by local supervision
School Diploma or GED is required.
• Basic math
and computer skills are required
lifting may be required for this position.
• Fork truck
license is preferred.
• Ability to
read drawings and blueprints.
• Ability to
perform the essential functions assigned to this position.
• Must be
able to work overtime and on weekends as needed
